Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 at Atlanta to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of the fourth generation of Robertses to live in the Atlanta area beginning with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre since a young time. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. In 1953, he joined the Air Force, and was stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a play together with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in 1957. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957 they quit the Air Force and Walter started his education at Tulane. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou produced a Saturday matinee local TV show that was aimed at children, known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. This was a project that they funded themselves. The following year, they started The Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for six years. During this time they also had two children Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
