April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began piano and guitar lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. At the age of 12 She composed her debut single Different. The singer spent much of her time when she was 14 writing songs and practicing music. After that, she started taking trips to write with father, who lived in NY and LA. April also began incorporating other relevant topics into the song, which she called the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is also gaining a growing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and works for popular clean beauty company Ilia. The disability she has is part of her identity, but it is not the whole image. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore her being disabled however, it doesn't make a point of it. What's the message? The message? That we have many different aspects, that our identities and physical selves are not all that they seem. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. Lockhart is a huge example to other women regarding acceptance of oneself. She admits that she has gone through phases of insecurity with her physique and being uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses whatever she wants and posts images of her outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. One of the keys to self-love for her is the fact that it's not a goal. It's true for all regardless of level of insecurity. I believe having friends around you who really understand you and can see your feelings is crucial because they'll be the people that remind you of what are you worrying about?
