When I had a baby on me and others in the cradle, I was working 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to appear nice, however there were still many things that needed to be left. The project would require lots of time and money and shopping my favorite furnishings for this house. To stay in my budget I took my kids along to search for gems hidden in estate sales. Our weekly routine that included spending Friday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales buying old and new items. I spent the rest of the week sanding and painting the driveway. What I saw looked something like... that's when my passion to restore furniture started. After our home was fully decorated, I couldn't quit! I also had a booth at the market, where I would sell things. In the end, I was stuffed with too many pieces to store in the space available. More than 1000 people came to my house in one weekend, to shop for everything that was on the ground. Growing Days was founded in my home. Not only was my business flourishing, but I was also growing our sweet family as well. It was essential to find the right balance to me. I wanted to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days was the obvious option. The year was 2013, and my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. This was a fantastic direction for my business however I was also in need of a vacation. I made the decision to take some time off from my vintage furniture and remain at home with the children. At the time, it was exactly what I needed. After a while, after that, the phone began to ring. They asked for my help in interior decoration and renovations. The majority of them were people who walked into my house in my open houses for furniture. Once I had a few months I started taking on clients in my own way. In no time, I was managing several accounts and a home renovations business. If you had said to me that this company of mine would turn into an idea for a TV show on DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. In fact, I do amused when I think of it.
