Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's most well-known actors. She is known for her strong character that are also vulnerable. Born to a famous playwright father, but was raised by a single mom who worked as a nurse, she began to take an interest in theater while working with her father during the summer and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Beginning her career at the Broadway shortly after her graduation, she made her debut on film in just two years. She also appeared on TV within a year. Over the past few years she has appeared in a variety of film, TV and stage plays. She received many accolades over the course of her career which included four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of her many awards, she still loves theatre and has appeared on both screen and stage.
